With the dryness of the desert we live in here in Utah, I’ve been doing a co wash more and more often and been recommending it for my clients during these cold months where going from the cold outside to the heat inside and back again can do a real number on our hair. For the uninitiated, co washing is a conditioner wash. It is a unique technique, though, and if you don’t know how to do it correctly, you may not be getting the benefits.

Color your world!
I see the spring holding a lot of subtle, sweet dimensional color with pastels that are barely there. or dimensional color with some bright blondes. To encourage cool, silvery colors, use blues and purples. For warmth and reds, use pinks and plums.
To keep your hair looking and feeling soft and strong, use a deep conditioner every week or two and see your stylist for an in salon protein treatment. My favorite is TiGi Bedhead Color Goddess Miracle Treatment Mask. For strength, I use TiGi Copyright Care SOS Recovery Treatment in the salon with it to add intense healing and moisture.

Skin Transformation
So, for a very long time, I have recommended Cetaphyl as a moisturizer that is wonderful, and it is. However, now that I am aging slightly, I am noticing more and more that for me, it is simply not soaking into the skin. So, if Cetaphyl is not working for you anymore, and you want a moisturizer that you don’t have to spend a fortune on, I have an alternative!
Recently, I started using Neutrogena Hydro gel and I have noticed a huge difference! My skin is softer, my pores are smaller and my makeup goes on more smoothly. I am loving it! It does have a very cooling effect when you first put it on, much like cold cream. It soaks in quickly and easily and leave the skin soft and moisturized all day.
The only thing I would say is a bit of a downside is that the original gel is not super moisturizing. I feel like I have to use a ton of it, and the first week I used it, I would actually apply it twice. So, for those of us with more dry skin, definitely veer toward the Creme gel for Very Dry Skin.
All in all, it’s wonderful, though. It has all the same things I liked about Cetaphyl. Non comedigenic, a very light scent, no scent added (I think).

You can make the edginess in your hairstyle obvious or you can hide it. Our redhead sometimes parts her hair down the middle, making her hair a cute A-line. As you can see, it’s not just pretty and clean all the time.
